For quite some time, reading a book was not on my list of things to do. In order for me to fully enjoy one, all my laundry must be done, the house cleaned, dinner ready to serve, outside plants watered, and on and on.
In other words, no distractions with chores looming while I read.
Not sure if I consumed this book or if it consumed me. It was finished in two sittings.
Granted, I was on a plane and the chores were unreachable !
If you've not read this book, run . . . don't walk to the library, book store, or download it immediately.
It is relevant to one particular incident perpetrated by the French Police that went far beyond what the Nazi's (who, yes were horrific in what they did to the Jews) had actually asked them to do in numbers and is still a sensitive topic for France today. The story of what actually happened to one little girl and a modern day reporter living in Paris trying to find out what happened to her. It is a heart-breaking story that does show the horror of the times.
Watch this trailer for a glimpse into history that many did not even know about.
