Sex Change Capital of the World

Trinidad, Colorado...

On the road again, in the snow, up to our... boot tops.

First of all, thanks to all of you who have continued to visit The Asylum even though I've not been able to knock at your door for the past week. My visits and profound comments should resume after we arrive home. We made it to Trinidad, Colorado, and hope to finish the trip today unless the snow closes the roads AGAIN. (Scroll down for those pictures.)

Yes, Trinidad. Wikipedia says this...in this order:

So, here I sit in The Sex Change Capital of the World motel room that reeks of carpet deodorant and stale cigarette smoke with:

theHansMan (aka: Swampdrainer), remote clutched tightly in his hand, watching "Deliverance"...dueling banjoes blaring

three dogs, Bubba snoring the loudest

the aforementioned 'four' emitting gaseous sounds and odors that make one's nostrils flare...flair?

a slab of meatloaf that looks like a 'corner' brick drenched in a tomato glue-like-paste that has hardened and cracked

half of a smashed Butterfinger, some peach tea, and a dill pickle

Any suggestions?

To my blogging friends, you know that these posts are being automatically posted by TypePad, a wonderful feature that I love. Thank you for continuing to visit even though I am unable to stop by your places for awhile.

For those who have asked about Junior, here is an update. We have all three dogs with us. The truck is more like a kennel-on-wheels. Junior was treated by Dr. Coe at CSU's vet school last Tuesday with a 4-hour chemo I.V. He seems to have responded somewhat to the drug. Junior will still sit on anyone who lies down on the floor, will give your face a bath, and is the same 'wovable' dog as always. He still has a good quality of life and we have hope he will continue to improve. For our friends who are visiting the blog for the first time, there are pictures of him with Elmo in the December archives located by the pink clock on the left side of the page.

...this is why. There was no way out of Wyoming yesterday...
