Not much was happening on our trip home from Crested Butte until we were in the general vicinity of Somerset, CO.
AnodeMan was driving when we rounded a curve and he yelled, "Bear !"
To which I responded, "Where?"
My camera usually rides in my lap ready to fire and this time was no exception.
He pulled to the side of the road and I finally spotted him . . .
There was much squawking going on and judging by the direction he was looking, Mama must have already crossed the highway.
Sure enough . . .
The noise that baby was making was like nothing I've ever heard before.
At this point, I'm holding my breath that a car doesn't come speeding around the curve and hit him.
With three feet in the air, he is moving as fast as he can.
Seems like it took him a life-time to cross that highway, but it all happened in a matter of seconds.
Breathing a sigh of relief that he had crossed the road, we kept looking for Mama, but she was just over the hill out of sight.
Baby bear knew exactly where she was.
He stopped for a split second to smell where she had been . . .
. . . and then headed out of sight.
