Just can't seem to shake that 'beach bum' attitude . . . reposted from December 12, 2010 :
A promise has been made to Laura that an "official" Hotel Akumal Caribe post will show up here soon.
But it's just not soon enough yet.
There are s-o-o-o-o many photos to share and so little Internet where we are, at the present time, there was only time to play in the sand today.
So, until soon arrives upon the horizon, just enjoy this Akumal Beach Art . . .
If you were along for THIS WALK the other day, you will notice that several more sculptures have been added to the Akumal Art Gallery.
One of my favorites was this lady.
Seems as though gravity may have taken effect . . .
. . . and affected her belly button.
But, nevertheless, she is beautiful . . .
. . . even from this angle.
One must be very careful when walking the beach . . .
Jaws is alive and well.
And so is this critter.
Don't let the cute smile on his face fool you.
Just trying to keep you on your toes and take these photos from several different perspectives. . .
If those little beach pebbles represent candles, how old is Mary ?
Sponge Bob in a Speedo ?
Another one of my favorites . . .
Some poor kid down the beach is missing one of his sand toys . . .(plastic red star)
Was this one created by digging out the sand ?
Nope.
Just stand on your head to see what happens.
Or.
Turn you computer monitor upside down.
Or.
Blink.
Blink.
Blink to change the shadows and create a totally different image.
A sand pyramid . . .
Looking back the other direction at about one-hundred-fifty feet of Sand Art.
And.
Many.
Many.
Hours of fun.
Guess what will be next ?
Meet Dave and the only two tools of his trade . . .
A field engineer for a company in Akron
By day
A beach sculptor for a "company" in Akumal
By night
It's a long commute
And a tough job
But
Someone has to do it.

Hunting for Treasure . . .
On the last post, you were asked to see if you could find any treasure.
It's in the next photo.
Are you a good treasure hunter ?

I think I'm a good treasure hunter, but a lousy treasure winner! It looks like a very old coin, and is in the grey area on the far right, lower part....but lost out again on the camera at Ree's place...rats!

Beautiful pics, Swampy. If you truly want to feel blessed by that weather, head over to Laurie's (with the three dogs) for a look at her place!

I think my favorite was the moon and star!

Swampy, is it just my imagination, or did you leave your banner photo up so long that it actually came BACK into season??? I have it on good authority that there was NOT snow in GJ all year.
This is not a cranky comment, just an amused observation!!! As your unofficial archivist, I felt it my duty to notice!!!

PUPPYSITTER: Thanks for being my unofficial archivist ! And you are totally, 100% correct. That photo has been up forever. Some day soon, maybe it will be changed. You did find the treasure here. Sorry there wasn't a camera involved. If I had the sponsorship that Ree has, I would mail you one.
SANDY: I'll go take a look.
SAYRE: Mine, too.
