Message from the Emergency Swampcast System:
The judges have made their decision and the winner will be announced within the next month next week few days few hours SOON !
I've just been informed that it's half past Soon ! I guess that means it's time to tell you who won the cookbook.
But, before that happens, I want to thank those of you who bogged through these directions. There was a method to my madness an objective in making it a time consuming contest. It narrowed down the field to those dedicated readers. And, if you notice, a new commenter.
Also, did you notice how neat the comments looked ?
If I had to choose a favorite caption from each contributor, these would be them:
#6 I'm too sexy for my diaper.
#8 Whoa, gotta stop doing the diaper sniff test ! (And the fact she remembers that HansMan teaches children to climb trees.)
#12 The past, behind us, holds memories. The future holds promise and hope.
#12 This is one of those pictures that needs no caption at all
and in honor of this being a Swampy contest, an alternate
#12 Security, confidence, joy, love, warmth, beauty, light, innocence, self-assuredness, charm, belonging, radiance.
Pamela (used a movie theme for all her captions)
#4 Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
#3 just a swingin
Hulagirlatheart (used movie quotes)
"Listen! You smell something?"-Ray in Ghostbusters
#7 Next year we go to the Olympics
Now, with that being said, here is the winner:
All of you will receive a cookbook. Please e-mail a physical address to:
Please be patient, as it will take a while to have this done.
Puppysitter, since you've already won a cookbook, you're in line for a box of Palisade peaches. BUT, I need a physical address instead of a P.O. Box number.
Again, thanks to all of you for participating in this time-consuming project.
It's time for another "Pioneer Woman Cooks" cookbook give-away. But, before we get to the rules and regulations...by-laws and stipulations... requirements and specifications...oh, stop it already !
Here's the last photo for yesterday's post, and by just scrolling through yesterday's photos, you watched these two grow up right before your very eyes.
This is Bee and E-E. Bee is sometimes known as Wetsy at other places on the Internet.
E-E is sometimes known as my daughter on the Internet.
They have been mistaken for sisters, which is fine by me. I'll take Bee anytime.
But, her mom, Gee, and her sister Ree, might not agree...with me.
Fast forward a couple of decades, we find an adorable little people-person who made our day at the park a special one as evidenced by the twelve photos that follow.
Now for the "guidelines" for this contest.
Each photo will be numbered. Your caption will contain the same number of words as the numbered photo.
In other words, photo #1 will have a one word caption. Photo #2 will have a two-word caption. Photo #256 will have a two-hundred-fifty-six-word caption...and so on and so forth...and hither...and yon.
You are allowed to enter as many times as you wish. Just be sure that each "set of captions" is in a different comment. We wouldn't want to cornfoose the judges.
And speaking of the judges, they are highly qualified and love to laugh. So, make them giggle or cry or both.
The contest ends Friday at 12:00 noon Swamp Witch Time. The winner will be announced sometime after that.
Are you ready to win an autographed cookbook ? Even if you already have one of these cookbooks, which I cerealously believe everyone in the Universe has a copy, you need another one. Christmas is only 149 days away. Besides, I plan to stick in a creation of my own which pales in comparison to Ree's masterpiece, but I tried.
Get on your mark.
