Mariposa Tells Tales is the Fun Monday hostess this week. Here's the challenge, and to find out everyone who is participating, clink her link.
(1) Please share with us how the NAME of your BLOG was made? I can't wait to hear interesting funny stories!
(2) Please share with us (in words or photo, though a combination of both will be a bonus!) your favorite/ most common dish!
Since I did not follow the rules last week, there's this little urge to not follow them again this week. But, I shall.
Anecdotes, Antidotes, and Anodes ...Moldy Musings of a Mom was 'developed' because I like alliteration.
Anecdote = short tale or amusing biographical incident.
Antidote = something that can counteract a form of poisoning.
Anode = we manufacture, sell, and install them
You can combine the above three words any way you please to create your own story as to why I chose them for my glob.
Sub-title:
Moldy = what keeps me in business
Mom = Me, Myself, and I
Now for my favorite dish. Actually, I have two.
This dish:
And this dish:
Mariposa, is this what you meant in "favorite/most common dish?"
See, I followed the rules. Really, I did.

GREAT! I love the first dish!

I love the OK dish!

You certainly embody the Fun in Fun Monday! O btw, Mariposa has a new Mr. Linky up to sign in on with your direct url...

Your dishes are beautiful!! The second one looks like a hand made one.
Posted by: Alison | February 24, 2008 at 08:28 PM
Dish? Ummmmm, NLM was taking pictures of food tonight. I told him to post a picture of his favorite dish, and when he walked right past me to the kitchen, I got a little bent, BUT you took pictures of actual dishes...not food. Well, we'll see what he posts. And what everyone else posts. Rut-Row.

Oooops Rats! Did it again! The above post is from NLL, not NLM.
Posted by: Nekked Lizard Lady | February 24, 2008 at 08:31 PM
CELESTE: I use that dish as decoration, too.
CYNTHIA: I have two of those made by Frankhoma pottery in Sand Springs, OK.
ELLENB: Thanks for the notice and glad you had fun.
ALISON: See info about that piece above.
NLM...I mean, NLL: Love it when you have identity crisis(es).

Smart asses unite!!
Humm I never knew the anode part, which would also mean I never got the moldy part either. I'm glad I am in the know now!!
Posted by: kaytabug | February 24, 2008 at 09:25 PM
KAYTABUG: Great minds think alike. Does that still make us smart...asses?
Posted by: Swampy | February 24, 2008 at 09:51 PM
LOL, Oklahoma is a handy shape for a dish!
Posted by: Kila | February 24, 2008 at 10:04 PM
I still don't understand what an anode is and does it have something to do with mold? Adnoids? Do you remove them? like tonsils?
Posted by: Junebug | February 24, 2008 at 10:33 PM
MMMM Very nice dishes!
Posted by: karisma | February 24, 2008 at 11:16 PM
I like the part "Since I did not follow the rules last week, there's this little urge to not follow them again this week." As if last week was the ONLY time you didn't follow the rules. HAHAHAHA!
And I like the dishes. The second one bemused me until I read in the comments that it's actually Oklahoma. I thought it was just a random shape by an arty-farty potter. But it's very nice.

I wish I'd been clever enough to go with an actual physical dish. It would have been so much simpler. I inherited collector plates from my Grandmother and a few are very special to me.
Posted by: Ann | February 24, 2008 at 11:42 PM
How are your teeth ? it must be hard to bite in these dishes, lol !
Posted by: Gattina | February 24, 2008 at 11:53 PM
I thought about Jeff Bridges when she said your favorite dish.
Posted by: Pamela | February 25, 2008 at 12:41 AM
Man, why didn't I think of that!!! Jen
Posted by: jennifer | February 25, 2008 at 01:14 AM
Ha love the 'dishes' I was going to do that but stuck with food!
Posted by: chrisb | February 25, 2008 at 03:29 AM
Love the presentation of this entry! LOL
Posted by: Mariposa | February 25, 2008 at 03:37 AM
Great minds think alike... I was going to post pictures of my favorite "dishes", but they're all in an unlabeled box in the garage right now. Some day I will get around to unpacking.
Love the OK plate - is that for chips and dip?
Posted by: Sayre | February 25, 2008 at 04:25 AM
Literalist! Rule follower!!
What is this world comin' to?
If I had a favorite dish, I'd have gone that route, too (if I had thought about it :/). Now, you've got me thinking what it'd be if I chose one!
I'm sure, probably more than anyone else participating today, your explanation of your blog title is the most "helpful"...I woulda never guessed it if you hadn't explained it before (OF COURSE it makes sense once you discover the method in your madness!!).
:)

I like your big blue gun dish.
That is a gun, right?
Posted by: Jenny, Bloggess | February 25, 2008 at 08:25 AM
Love the first dish! It looks awfully "yummy!"
Posted by: Tracey | February 25, 2008 at 08:28 AM
ha ha ha!! Love the dishes!
Posted by: Aoj & The Lurchers | February 25, 2008 at 08:29 AM
lol...that's our swampy, always skirting the edges... or flagrantly ignoring the rules!
love your dishes.
Posted by: janet | February 25, 2008 at 08:56 AM
Those are beautiful dishes! I guess I went with the most common dish as I featured a favorite food in my everyday dishes.
Posted by: Jenni in KS | February 25, 2008 at 09:09 AM
Okay...I mean O-K, Oklahoma. Nice. Burnt orange would be nicer.
Posted by: min | February 25, 2008 at 09:11 AM
There's a few of us that followed the same "dish" rules.
Posted by: nikki | February 25, 2008 at 09:11 AM
I wish I had thought to take a picture of a favorite dish. I have several.....you're just much more clever than I am.
Posted by: Sauntering Soul | February 25, 2008 at 10:22 AM
Fabulous Dishes! Can't wait to see what you come up with next week!
Have a Fun Monday!
Posted by: JennV. | February 25, 2008 at 10:47 AM
Love your sense of humour - made me smile.
Found you through Fun Monday.
Posted by: JanMary, N Ireland | February 25, 2008 at 10:57 AM
Cool! I knew about the anodes but never tripped to the moldy. Duh!
The only thing that would make that 2nd dish better would be if it were shaped like Texas! Just kidding, just kidding.
Posted by: Sandy | February 25, 2008 at 10:58 AM
Go Swampy! Go Oklahoma!!! Go go go!
(MAN will I be glad when Kelsie's tryouts are over!)

I stopped by to check your side bar for GJ weather, but it's not working...I don't know if it got crowded out or if it's down or what. I've got another former neighbor who it taunting me about how nice it is there today, but his thermometer is in the sun reflecting off the deck so it's totally unreliable. I wanted to know what the REAL temperature was.

I was just stopping by to check out the current GJ weather conditions in your sidebar, but it isn't working. I don't know if it got crowded out by your awards or if it's just down or what. I have another former neighbor who is taunting me about how nice it is, but his thermometer is in the direct sun and reflected off the deck, so not reliable...I wanted to know what the REAL temp was.

I got the other words, but anode I never could figure out. Now I do and of course it makes perfect sense :o) And the dishes? I see we have a few smarty pants participating in Fun Monday LOL
Posted by: Joy T. | February 25, 2008 at 01:51 PM
Ha! I love the 2nd dish - very cute!
Posted by: Carrie | February 25, 2008 at 02:00 PM
Well, I got the anecdotes and now Paul Harvey and I have the rest of the story. Re your favorite "dish" I keep expecting someone to post say Colin Firth. . .
Posted by: Faye | February 25, 2008 at 02:06 PM
HEY! The weather is working now!!! 49 sounds a whole lot more realistic than 95!!! Thanks!!! But he did say the tulips broke through today, and I think that was the truth, so spring is starting there...and it's snowing here. Love your dishes...wish I had a Montana one!
Posted by: Equoni | February 25, 2008 at 04:25 PM
Hey, I've been to that pottery factory. Even had a few pieces at one time. (Mom loved stopping by there... wow, that brought back memories of childhood vacations to OK).
Posted by: Nekked Lizard Lady | February 25, 2008 at 06:15 PM
I toyed with putting a picture of my Beleek Bread plate up or my handmade plate I bought in Wisconsin two years ago, but I didn't. Glad you did!
Posted by: Heather | February 25, 2008 at 08:15 PM
My favorite dish would be in the bottle of Chivas Regal or maybe after I had the whole bottle, or a quarter, and then every dish would be a desert.... hahahah. I am so funny, I kill me.
Oh I thought you were still in Yellowstone, or Jaundice Rock or somewhere where you are no longer wanted my the law. me
PS, they do look like maggots don't they?
Posted by: Nekked Lizard Man | February 25, 2008 at 08:20 PM

Posted by: Michelle | February 25, 2008 at 08:24 PM
You really did stick with the rules! And I love your dishes!!
Posted by: bermudabluez | February 26, 2008 at 12:03 AM
Nice choice on the dishes. I bowed out of Fun Monday this week, but I do like the topic.
Posted by: Molly | February 26, 2008 at 04:56 AM
I love that you don't follow the rules. I didn't really but only because I linked to a different post for my favorite dish.
I actually knew what those words all stand for...sometimes I worry myself.
Posted by: my4kids | February 26, 2008 at 11:37 AM
Should have seen that one coming from you! Love the dishes, the first one is cute, but the second one might be even better. ;-)
Posted by: Karina | February 26, 2008 at 02:49 PM
Oh what a very clever blog name! I love it! And yes, you did play by the rules didn't you? :)
Thanks for sharing!
